Veterinarians successfully used alternative medical treatments such as acupuncture on three wild animals burned in the Southern California wildfires, although one patient -- a 5-month-old mountain lion -- did keep eating his fish-skin and corn-husk bandages, vets at the University of California, Davis said Wednesday.

I takes a special kind of Nazi nurse - I’ve had ‘em - to keep wild predators from messing with their bandages. Good on ‘em.

I actually read that in another country they are using fish skin for those badly burned and the people burned do not experience the pain that normally comes and they don’t have to go through the pulling off dead skin etc.
Aww, poor babies. Hope this works. Hope they don’t become too accustomed to humans though.

I remember reading about fish skin for burns a couple years ago. It contains a protein that helps with wound healing but doesn’t cause a damaging immune response.
I’m not sure I’d really like mercury filled Chinese tilapia plastered all over me BUT I suspect I wouldn’t give a damn if I really need it. Severe burn wounds are one of the worst things I’ve ever seen.
Saw this on the news earlier. The mountain lion didnt get it and kept eating the fish skin.
