The mature version of Beto was on with Tucker Carlson last night talking about immigration. He was completely wrong in his stance, but I thought he sounded eminently smooth and reasonable. He kept talking, in answer to Tucker's pressing, in a very reasonable, measured tone of voice about how vital the various illegals, such as the Salvadoreans, were to Texas communities. It was a bunch of crap, but it sounded reasonable and made Tucker sound a bit frantic.
Appearances are what get people elected. We'll be hearing more about this handsome, smooth talking Dem in the future, I predict. There's a picture of him below. On FOX last night, he looked like he'd put on a few pounds and filled out a bit, looking more mature and less like a pretty young upstart.
