Police in western New York have charged a man who they say impersonated a police officer in an attempt to get discounted coffee.
WIVB-TV reports the man flashed a fake badge and gun at a Starbucks in Buffalo around 11 p.m. Friday. Police say the man claimed he was a detective and asked for a discount.

He should have gone to a donut shop, they would have believed him...
It’s one thing to be cheap.
It’s another to be cheap and stupid..................
It was not asking for free donuts to go with the coffee that was the tipoff.
Fake Badge, fake coffee...
For a cup of coffee?
(Well, it was Starbucks and that crap is WAY overpriced.)
Wow, this for discount coffee? If you’re going to pose as a cop, go big and assassinate Barzini or something LOL
Maybe he was testing out his imitation skills.
If he had gotten away with it at Starbucks, the next step might have been trying to get something else at a discount.
But if he self-identifies as a police officer, don’t we have to respect his identity? /sarc
I wonder how many people get your post.
I sometimes do that just to see who does. :-)
Nothing goes well w/ stupid ; )
The poor man identified as a police officer. What’s wrong with that?
