Why are rabbits a problem? Are they predators down there? Given the kind of wildlife they have I guess it wouldn’t surprise me.

I think it said that Rabbits eat too much of the plant food and make more dry desert.

In Texas, 12 rabbits eat as much as a cow. In Oz, the rabbits over populated and eat up most of the native grass.

Rabbits are not native to Australia-the Brits brought them over there for whatever reason-they multiplied and now compete for food resources with the native species. Cats and foxes are also introduced species in Australia-people did not realize a couple of hundred years ago that introducing non-native species to an area is a very bad idea-think pythons in Florida...
