A top member of President Trumps outside legal team called Tuesday for the appointment of a separate special prosecutor to look into potential conflicts of interest involving Justice Department and FBI officials.
Jay Sekulow made the call following a Fox News report revealing that the wife of a DOJ official demoted for concealing his meetings with the firm behind the anti-Trump dossier herself worked for the same firm, Fusion GPS, during the 2016 election.
Sekulow told Fox News that a special prosecutor should be appointed to look into these issues. A group of House Republicans for months has called for the appointment of a second special counsel to probe certain Obama and Clinton-related controversies, something Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reviewing.
When asked Tuesday about the Sekulow call, Sessions noted hes already ordered that review following the prior call from members of Congress.
Ive put a senior attorney, with the resources he may need, to review cases in our office and make a recommendation to me ... if things arent being pursued that need to be pursued, if cases may need more resources to complete in a proper manner, and to recommend to me if the standards for a special counsel are met, he said, calling that the appropriate course.

“I say outsource the whole thing to Judicial Watch!”
That’s the best idea I’ve heard in about six months. I could breathe a sigh of relief if that were to happen.
I expect Sessions to turn him down...
Likely so...Putting Sessions to the final test to see where his loyalties lie...
You left out Aaron Zebley.

Sekulow just appeared on Hannity, and made it clear his primary target of ire is the corruption in the DOJ, including the inept Sessions.
Since he is official counsel for the President, I would think the President approved this message.
The overall message is the DOJ colluded with Hillary, and the Russians via Steele, to steal the election, not Trump.
“we cant realistically deport ll million illegal aliens”
We probably can’t, but we can deport a substantial amount. We should have policies, such as in the tax reform, that encourage self-deportation.
We do need comprehensive reform. That should not include amnesty.
“Comprehensive immigration reform” is not necessarily a code for amnesty. Trump is asking for comprehensive reform from Congress. I’d expect him to veto amnesty.
Enforcement does not require comprehensive immigration reform, but we do need to build the wall so that enforcement efforts are not wasted.
Even if we could deport 11 millions illegals, what good would it be if 90% kept coming back?
No illegals should get citizenship for being here illegally.
Some should be allowed conditional permanent legal residency. The conditions must be set by Congress, not the president. Congress has failed to do its job, and Trump is having to deal with an unworkable situation.
Currently, children born here by illegals a granted citizenship status. I don’t think this is right, but I also don’t see how this is going to get fixed. And children of permanent legal residents are probably citizens even under strict Constitutional standards, whether it is in the nation’s best interest or not.
I have been unable to find Sekulow taking any position different from Trump on immigration. If you are aware of an example, please show me.
