The body of a woman who was found dead in the water along a trail in Sunnyvale on Thursday has been identified as a 23-year-old software engineer.
Police said a bicyclist spotted the body of 23-year-old Chuchu Ma in the water along Bay Trail Thursday morning. The Google software engineer was reported missing in Mountain View that same day.
Body found in water along Sunnyvale trail identified According to Mas LinkedIn page, she graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Texas, Austin, where she received a National Merit Scholarship.
She worked as an engineer at Google for over a year where she was also excelling.

Chuchu was an excellent software engineer in our developer product team. We are devastated to learn of her passing, and our deepest condolences are with her family and friends.
Police are tight-lipped about the details surrounding Mas death. At this time, it isnt clear if she was the victim of a crime.
The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said the investigation is ongoing and they are awaiting the coroners autopsy results.
Such a beautiful young woman just starting her life. Very, very sad.
Did she ever happen to have worked as an intern for a member of Congress?
I immediately thought of foul play also-——and it can happen anywhere.
.
CA has more FReepers simply because it's population is largest. Let's do a proportional census and your percentage would be the smallest.
Sad. RIP.
My money is also on a vagrant perp.
Who’s also an illegal alien? Good chance of that too.
Or maybe Ohr?
My guess is a spurned love interest
Based on what?
We had a women beheaded in a coffee shop many years ago. It turned out to an Asian spurned love interest.

Strange place to attack someone. There are probably cameras along that path. If so, there may be plenty of video of her attacker.
I suppose she might have been paying too much attention to her cell phone, veered off the path, and hit her head while rolling into the canal.
I hope the autopsy clears up what happened.
R.I.P.
Very sad. Suspicious. Prayers.
I have cycled along San Mateo at Coyote Point and Berkeley at Aquatic Park. It gets sketchy in places, because homeless look at you as if you have a money in the wallet and an expensive bike. Best to ride or run in groups. Why was a brilliant young lady near Stevens Creek Shoreline by herself? Sad.

I have a granddaughter who is a runner,a very good one,and she runs alone———it horrifies me-——so I just have to put her in God’s hands, and pray.

Well let's put that theory to the test, using your own state of Wisconsin. As a baseline, go to reply #16 of this FR fundraising thread from last quarter that shows the number of donations from each state (one-time donations + monthlies).
Wisconsin had a total of 11 Freepers making donations out of a total state population of 5.779 million. That is a percentage of .0000019.
California had a total of 134 Freepers making donations out of a total state population of 39.25 million. That is a percentage of .00000341.
Let's remove the first five decimal points for clarity:
California = .341
Wisconsin = .190
So as a proportion, based on the number of people donating, California has almost TWICE the Freepers of Wisconsin on a proportional basis.
I haven't run this analysis on any of the other states but I would venture to guess that California has most of them beat.
What did she know about Hillary?
Had she made statements supporting Trump lately?
Prayers to her family. Rest in Peace....
>>You think the people here thinking that a brilliant young engineer possibly getting sacked is unChristian?<<
It was the jokes and the snark.
My first thought was a medical issue. I once saw a 23yo male stand up from a table and keel over dead. Brain aneurism.
