Asia Kate Dillon, an actor whom I just love from Showtimes Billions, has scored a first: a non binary actor who was born a woman and nominated as Best Supporting Actor from that show by the Critics Choice Awards.
Dillon prefers to use the singular they pronoun, which isnt grammatical but hey were in new territory here. They plays Taylor, the genius assistant to Damian Lewiss Bobby Axelrod on the show. Dillon is not the only nominee from Billions. The great Paul Giamatti scored a Best Actor nomination, as well.
For some reason Billions doesnt get much love from awards groups. Its one of my all time favorite shows and I know it has a big following. Lewis, Giamatti, Malin Akerman, the show itself, all deserve a lot of awards and nominations.
Dillon comes to Billions from Orange is the New Black, so they are not unknown. But Dillon is just terrific on Billions, a real breath of fresh air. So Bravo, in any category and any pronoun!
P.S. I guess I should congratulate "them" on the nomination!
Hey, I think that’s racist...or something.
Can’t even read whatever BS language this article is written in.
Not even going to try either.
Speechless.
We don’t even know who they is.
Pronoun===> “it”
You be racist...or something like that.
I’ve seen “them” in pictures and they just look like a cute girl with an androgynous style to me. In prior eras it wouldn’t be noteworthy.
I like the Billions series, with its S&M district attorney.
Taylor is creepy to watch at first, but you get used to it/her/him/them.
Oh, Fabulouth!
How about that stupid ze and zir the left wants to force on everybody to replace he and she. Bite me libs. Every time I hear ze being used I think someone is doing a fake French or German accent. Every time I hear the word zir used, I look around for a Flash Gordon villain.
She/he/it was supposed to be a woman, biologically speaking.... but something has gone haywire!
I wish everyone, especially conservatives, would stop patronizing these “arts.”
In Silence of the Lambs, the bad guy wanted to become a woman by wearing their skins.
Could they even write such a script today? The murdering and skinning part would still be OK, but not the gender-confused-character-is-evil part.
Hollywood loves to give each other awards that are politically motivated.
How pathetic and laughable!
We are Legion for we are many.
I was just watching some old Benny Hill clips....This one had him yelling at his child who was off-camera....
“I don’t care if you are 17 years old, you are not going out with all that makeup on your face, and wearing a mini-skirt.......Malcolm!”
Nowadays, people would watch that and think, “I don’t get the joke.”
This person might conceivably have acting talent. But that doesn’t matter one way or the other. It’s safe to say that they got the award for being oh-so-chic with their perversion. Nothing else was taken into consideration.
