Lemme get this straight...
- The incoming NSA, a Lt. Gen. in the Army, stonewalls the FBI on a politically charged question they asked him about his reasonable contacts with a foreign ambassador. He is fired, vilified, and eventually extorted into pleading guilty to the moral equivalent of jaywalking, and it’s not clear if what he plead to was even a crime.
- The FBI and the DoJ stonewalls the Congress of the United States for three months (!) on a question made to them about the bias of two people investigating the the President of the United States. Nothing happens, they whistle as they walk away and laugh at the hapless Congressmen, who are merely the elected representatives of the People.
Got it. Federal employees are above everyone else in the law, in fact they ARE the law, answer only to themselves and they reserve the right to run a frame on the President of the United States if they feel he isn’t deferential enough to them.
Ok, can we start shooting now?
