McMaster: Potential of war with North Korea 'increasing every day'

National security adviser H.R. McMaster said Saturday that the potential of war with North Korea is "increasing every day" after the nation's latest launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

"I think it's increasing every day" McMaster told Fox News host Bret Baier at the Reagan National Defense Forum, when asked if this week's missile launch heightened the possibility of war with the U.S.

McMaster pointed to the latest North Korean missile launch, which flew higher than any of its previous long-range weapons, as posing an increased threat to the U.S. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been working to advance his country's nuclear capability to strike the U.S. mainland.

"The greatest immediate threat to the United States and to the world is the threat posed by the rogue regime in North Korea," McMaster said. "Every time he conducts a missile launch, a nuclear test, he gets better."

McMaster, a protege of Herr Horntoad Petraeus, salivates to please his master in bringing WAR to the news cycle and thus control the Trump, or so they would think.

There is just one party in this whole fustercluck that can make this all go away - the Chinese Communist regime in Beijing.

Maybe the Chicoms should be engaging in a little “regime change” of their own. For sure, Fatboi is not going to change without considerable persuasion. or even extreme prejudice, as he has no frame of reference to work from.

Ruthless people dealing with ruthless people, best we can hope for.

Clearly the dumbest person to be involved in National Security since Robert McNamara.

Likely correct. There is a cut off line that will trigger Trump taking out their ICBM delivery systems and nuclear weapons.

Let’s take a look at what North Korea has to gain from nuking an American city.

1. A lot of dead Americans.
2. Retaliation on a biblical scale leaving them incapable of existing.
3. Ummmmm....
4. Well, there’s........
5. Still looking.....

Just not seeing any benefit for North Korea.

Now, let’s look at how China benefits from a nuclear attack by North Korea on an American city.

1. Lots of dead Americans.
2. Their centuries old problem with Korea is ended. North Korea is a radioactive wasteland that South Korea won’t be able to touch for years.
3. America is “taught a lesson”.
4. China comes up with a different “Cats Paw”.

China is the winner.

We see who is really behind this.

Any nuclear attack by North Korea upon an American target will be viewed as a nuclear attack by China, and the appropriate retaliation will be given to the Chinese.

There are two military factions in proximity to President Trump. One camp has the face of McMaster whose mentor is Petraeus. The other camp, the favored one, is that of Mattis.

McMaster is the White House insert of Petraeus and Petraeus is the Point man for the Senate Armed Services Committee (McCain, Linda, etc.) This the Neocon Camp that wants massive, neverending war because war is good, and it’s good for business; their business.

Mattis is the McArthur of the era. Efficient and timely. He has said he will take out NKorea in 15 minutes, and he won’t use nuclear. He will use space-based kinetic energy weapons, ‘Rods from God’.

A 15-minute war with NKorea would be absolute devastation for the Neocon Camp. We can bet they loathe Mattis.

Part of the Bush crowd. Never met a war or conflict they didn’t want to get the US involved in.

I don’t see any benefit or China either

1. Huge radioactive & humanitarian mess on their door step,
2. Trade is disrupted with two of its largest trading partners maybe for quite some time,
3. The “lesson” America learns is not the “lesson” China hopes for, America blames China for what happened, “China could have done something but didn’t!” I the lesson learned,
4. South Korea & Japan learn the same “lesson” & draw closer together. Both go nuclear in a big way!

How does North Korea benefit?

Strange that so many people who defend China here at Free Republic have nothing on their personal page.

The dead don’t benefit much.

The goal of the NORKs is to be acknowledged as a “great power” & to extort whatever the regime needs from rest of the world to stay afloat. There will only be war if NORKs miscalculate. China benefits more from the status quo then anything else.
