Police are so busy babysitting the 'black community' that the rest of us have to come up with innovative ways to protect ourselves.
No one near as bad, but another “sign of the times” my sister had a disturbing visit from her next door neighbor.
The neighbor wanted to know if my sister had noticed a white sedan parked across the street from them earlier in the day.
While the car was parked there, a man and woman got out of the car, leaving two kids in the car. The woman remained standing next to the car, looking up and down the street, while the man went to the locked street-side mail box of my sister’s next door neighbor and tried to break into it. All the while the two little kids looking on.
My sister’s neighbor observed it all from her window and called the police, who arrived after the attempted thieves drove away. The neighbor did not get the license plate number, and that was the cause of her speaking to my sister; that and I general “be on the lookout” warning.
I guess this is how kids sometimes become juvenile and later adult criminals - taught early by their parents.
What could the thieves have gotten? Credit card and bank statements with account numbers and names, and other kinds of papers with folks identity and possibly financial information on them. Maybe, just maybe, even social security numbers.
Just a young man collecting for the Salvation Army after work and you all get suspicious. The gun was for his protection.
Right color for a 1:30am door knock but wheres the hoodie
Just installed one today. So far, so good.
.
Cops also stand beside the door, not behind it.
But cameras are changing things.
.
Test and adjust the sensitivity so that you’re not getting alerts on your smart phone at 3:00 in the morning when a rabbit runs across your front lawn.
;-)
New thing I learned today - in addition to Asbury Park, NJ there is an Asbury Park, MI.
Leon's response to armed thug knocking on the door.
Already did. Live on a busy street.
The old alert system was the dog barking when someone walked in front of his house w/out permission.
Have fun!
Amazing what walks around the house when you’re not home.
LOL
