It’s not as tho he came up on his toes like a ballerina might...Pushed himself up with his arms...His legs continued the motion...His toes were bent as would be normal...The narrator must be some girly-man who doesn’t know real men have muscles in their body...Especially professional athletes...
He pushed himself up with his hands, and used that momentum to stand up in that weird way. WAY back in the day, I could do cool stuff like that, back when my strength to weight ratio was off the charts (I could easily do 10 one-handed pull-ups at the time).
