Why should Christmas be a one day when it is in fact a two week festival?

When I was a child, the Christmas season was from December 25 to January 6, the Epiphany...the twelve days of Christmas.

Exactly! More or less the time you had a decorated tree in your home. We’ve lost that with the over anticipation of Christmas reilting in a near fatal exhaustion with it by the New Year.

It was a two week festival decided upon by some church group in ages past.

Why? Because I question where this lead-in to Christ being born? Some church (won't mention it) comes up with this twelve day thing then Hollyweird back in WW2 came out with a movie "White Christmas" and Bing Crosby singing "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and all that stuff of presents under the tree - it all descended into commercialism where it's all about buy buy buy and not one mention on radio or TV about what Christmas is all about.

I believe you might be a tad weird. Hope you enjoy your Christmas Party - don't forget to mention who's birth you're celebrating.
