That’s interesting as Pvt. Pyle was in the USMC long before the implantation of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and it is apparent that Pvt. Pyle did tell.

Even more interesting is that if Pvt. Pyle died at age 87, why in 1967 was he 37 years old and only a Private?

Why was Pvt. Pyle in Basic Training for so long?

Suppose he entered the USMC at age 18 and 19 years later he was still a Private and all so close and intimate with Sgt. Carter?
