President Donald Trump might not be getting rid of his eldest daughter and son-in-law anytime soon.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are reportedly looking to buy their first house in Washington, D.C., even amid reports that White House staffers want them to scram.
In a rare interview, Kusher said his wife has been asking about purchasing a home in the nation’s capital, apparently countering reports that the couple might move back to New York after drawing too much scrutiny in D.C.
“We’re here to stay. At the current moment, we’re charging forward,” Kushner told The Washington Post in a profile published Saturday.
“My wife asked me the other day if we should be looking at new houses, so that’s a good sign,” he added.
ushner and Ivanka, who both serve as presidential advisors, moved with Trump to Washington and rented a place for six months before deciding whether they will stay.
Since then, both have become enmeshed in daily White House operations — and scandals, with the latter reportedly mortifying the president.
Kushner’s role in White House duties has been steadily diminished during Trump’s first year.
Ivanka, meanwhile, has served as a Trump surrogate in public appearances and even private meetings.
The family drama might be becoming too much for Trump, as recent reports have suggested the couple’s days in Washington could be numbered.
Trump told his daughter, in front of staffers, that he was worried about her “getting killed” in the press and getting “a bad deal” in D.C. More recently, Trump was dismayed to see his daughter speaking out against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.
White House Chief of Staff John Kelly has been shrinking Kushner’s role in the White House while discussing with Trump the possibility of the couple leaving in 2018, according to The Times.

Of course the entire swamp circus is run by folks who want to establish themselves as gatekeepers to the Man and become jealous of anyone who has open uncontrolled access. Burning resentment is simply a character trait.
You could send Ivanka to the moon and she would still have access to let Dad know what she thinks on the issues. Folks need to get over it.
They should never have been given offices in the first place.

Good analysis. Ivanka’s influence is blown ridiculously out of proportion. No one can point to anything leftist that Trump has done and demonstrate that it was as a result of Ivanka’s influence. There’s just a a big morass of gossip, in which Ivanka is *going* to do so many horrible things...eventually.
Reading these comments, I feel like I’m on the commentary page for The New York Slimes. Too many gullible people still allowing themselves to be spoon-fed fake news by the drive-by media, taking it as the gospel truth, and reacting to it like the left-wing media wants them to. It’s amazing to see boogie-jvanka stirring up so much hate. As I’ve said before, I’m no fan of Ivanka or her husband. Otoh, I’m at a loss to account for the vitriol they engender. If somebody could just point to something real, and say, ‘This! Trump was all set to do something conservative, but Jvanka talked him into doing something liberal—and here’s proof!’
But that never happens.
It’s a free country. They can buy and live where they want to.
I know - that’s the amusing part about all this hysteria. They can stay or go as far as I’m concerned but Father Trump does his own thing regardless of those two.
