Whats in a name? A lot, according to researchers from the University of Nevada.
Whether a woman takes her husbands name after marriage or not, people pass judgment on the couple, they found.
The scientists have conducted three studies on this topic to date. In the newest, published in the journal Springer, researchers found that when a woman chooses not to take her husbands surname after marriage, people perceive her husband as being more feminine and less masculine.
Those same women, on the other hand, are regarded to yield more power and to be more self-focused, ambitious and assertive, according to previous research.

Unless you trade it for leaving the seat up.
The seat goes down, the lid goes down. It keeps the cats out of the toilet.
Dang right, screams LIBERAL to me.
It is not true in all cases, but a woman with a hyphenated last name is almost always a moonbat. And if her husband does the hyphenated last name thing it is because she wears his family jewels as earrings.
they hate men so much they take the last name of TWO of them... the real wack-a-doos are the ones that don't change their name at all
Seat and lit up. You girls don’t have to touch your stuff after touching the toilet, but us guys do. It’s only considerate.
Meanwhile we have had 39 wonderful years together.
Almost ALWAYS Liberals that do this...almost ALWAYS!
Nice story....now she needs to get it together.
When our daughter got married, her husband asked if he could change his last name to ours. He was adopted and did not care for his adopted name “Lurch”.
We consented.
i have my husband’s name, but my maiden name sounds better with my 1st name.
My kid kept her name only because she hates the inlaws!
Because it's true.
My view has always been, and remains to this day - a very simple view.
If a woman refuses to take her husband’s name; this says that she views this marriage as a “temporay” arrangement, and sees keeping her last name, as just a means to make the divorce that much easier.
So, why would a man want to enter into a “lifelong” arrangement, with a woman who already has one foot out the door?
I judge women with hyphenated names
Your post reminded me of Elijah asking the people how long they were going to bounce between two opinions, so I looked it up. 1 Kings 18:21
It is interesting because in verse 19, there were 450 prophets of Baal ("lord"), and 400 of the groves (Asherah goddess) who dined at Jezebel's table. Obvious masculine-feminine contrast there.
But then Elijah told people to make up their minds, to follow either the Lord, or Baal.
The feminist camp/grove wasn't even an option, haha.
Better get your ears checked because that’s not what it should be screaming. Conservative as they come, both of us with the same names we were born with.
An idiot who pretends to be a writer and confused yield with wield doesn’t get much respect from me to begin with. When they pitch pseudoscience as truth they get even less.
