An After Thanksgiving Day Letter:

I hope that EVERYBODY, (yes, that includes you), had a wonderful, fulfilling, and delightful Thanksgiving.

I know that there are those, that are wearing the uniform of our nation, in lots of mispronounced and misspelled places about the globe, doing their duty in keeping the rest of us safe and free. (ya hear that, ol' kaperwhatsit?) I know, because I was once one of them, myself.

I know that there are those, ahem, "folks" (I'm trying to keep this postable), who have derided the Thanksgiving holiday, with their rather peculiar talking points. It is obvious that they have either been lied to, or are just too ignorant, to see the full weight and value of Thanksgiving. It reminds me of the kid that became so accustomed to having an allowance just summarily handed over to him, that one day he just stood in front of the father and outstretched his hand. (snowflake alert) Needless to say, that the first and last time that the kid did that one.

Point in case, is a guy named Kaperwhatsit, that stood with a group of Injuns (I'm a half-breed Injun, so I'll speak it, thank you), and spoke about "the continuing fight for freedom". Really?!?!?!? How can a multi-millionaire actually FIGHT for anything? He can just buy it, right? A multi-millionaire in America, post-race riot 1960's, post-civil rights legislation signed into law, and with many of my GI brothers and sisters "on the wall", keeping the bad guys away from Mr. Multi-millionaire, at far less pay grades that ol' Kaperwhatsit has EVER earned, and with the check written "Payable with my life's blood". Ol' kaperwhatsit would never stoop so low to risk his own neck, would he?

Now, it is the "day after Thanksgiving", which has been called, FOR DECADES, "Black Friday". Why is it now, in the first year of Trump, that some "folks" are calling it racist??? Once again, their ignorance shows their lack of economic acumen. Why, when it would have seemed to carry more weight, during the Obama years, was this not spoken??

So, friends and readers ... Have you rushed out there to buy, buy, buy????? All the stuff the stores have for you to acquire, whether you need it, or not, whether you could afford it, or not, The Joneses will always be the ones with the next greatest "stuff', before you. Remember that.

Me? I have what I need: life, awareness, a place to live and cook, a means to enjoy some entertainment, and someone to love. And yes, I even have a few 'dust collectors' on a few shelves.
