Last time this was used to my own personal knowledge was to alert airborne USAF aircraft on the morning of 9-11. My USAF air crew friends said it scared the piss out of em as its sooooooooooo rarely used shy of a acknowledge (Ack) calls to alert forces like silos and subs and cold war alert nuke loaded bombers. We just finished a major (usual, scheduled) strategic exercise that undoubtedly required a lot of EX EX EX EAMs to be shot around all over the place.
