where was the Coast Guard ? seems like it should be their job If I remember correctly, the CHP has a horrible air safety record. I wonder if Brown cut funding to Coast Guard so now CHP has to earn their CALPERS
30 some years ago the CHP air ops did have a bad safety record. But that hasn’t been the case since at least the early 90s.
