Gloria Gaynor performed her hit I Will Survive at the Angel Ball hosted by Gabrielles Angel Foundation for Cancer Research founded by Denise Rich and the disco diva told Page Six she feels responsible for a lot of breakups.
I have always said I sang that song for the ladies and the good men, Gaynor said. There are a lot of men out there that are not bad but they just dont know how to treat a lady. So we end up with these breakups because we need to be treated right.

I looked it up and two men wrote the song. She made them a lot of money.
I have always said I sang that song for the ladies and the good men, Gaynor said.Sure does not explain why so many homosexuals like the song and made it a so-called gay anthem.
lol beakups sorry that made me chuckle
Gloria may not still be quite as famous as she thinks.
That was an awfully long time ago.
She loves bad boys. She sent BC chocolate golf balls and said, You will survive! during impeachment.
Still, when the feminists used to hold Alanis Morissettes Oughta Know as the anthem of a strong woman, I had to laugh. Its the anthem of a whiny ##### who cant get over a guy. I Will Survive is the anthem of a woman becoming strong.
In addition, the song sucks.......
LOL
She’s probably more responsible for some pretty embarrassing routines during my ice skating days...
I couldn’t find anything about the golf balls.
For ALL the ladies, gloria, or just the “good ones”?
(She assumes all ladies are good.) Hive mentality.
Like I said, two men wrote the song. I wonder what they thought.
I blame “Disco Inferno” for a lot of fires.
Beakups? Is that a code word for nose in the air snobs?
LOL. My post comes right up in a search already. I remember it being talked about by Rush, but after twenty years, my memory could be off.
That song is the equivalent of a movie cult classic , its ageless .
Same with certain Donna Summer songs if you grew up during that time. “Love to love you, Baby” was a big deal.
Both short and long versions.
I think it is when love birds go their separate ways.
I blame Marvin Gaye for the increase in unplanned pregnancies.
:D That's gotta be it. ;)
I liked the song. Any couple that broke up because of that music needed to beak up.
