That only happens if people feel like they, somehow, represent them in some mysterious way. Break that bond, and its just a bunch of guys in silly outfits doing who cares what.
I don’t think they get that even yet. But they will. It just may be too late when they do. They are destroying their own livelihood.
i’m retired now. However, I used to be responsible for purchasing decisions that accounted for 8k to 15k a year to an NFL team. I felt the same way as a younger executive as I do now and would not be spending my marketing dollars on the NFL.
I would be telling the team, I bought these Club level seats and passes and I can’t get a refund, but I am not spending money in the club and next year there is a big check you aren’t getting because I will not renew them.
