Police officers, veterans, medical workers, teachers, mothers and fathers are among the 59 people who were slain when a millionaire sniper started indiscriminately shooting at country music fans from his suite on the 32nd floor.
Stephen Paddock smashed out the windows of his Mandalay Bay hotel room in Las Vegas on Sunday and opened fire.
For 72 minutes he unfurled a horrific barrage of gunfire, while the helpless crowd ran for their lives. His sickening attack is the worst mass shooting in American history.

Not 72 minutes. Can’t be bothered to read past that.
Sorry, but I would hardly call this guy a “sniper.”
“Not 72 minutes”
Yep. Has anyone yet created a time-line for this rampage?
Tabled timeline, no. The videos show about 10 minutes of firing on the crowd. Then the battle began inside the hotel and when they declared him down would have been at the 72.
Amen. With 20,000 people standing shoulder to shoulder a blind guy could have gotten some hits. Sorry.
On the other hand, various article have said he shot for 72 minutes and murdered 52 people. That’s not very good shooting, thank goodness. Of course his targets began to move once they realized what was happening.
Let us be thankful he didn’t spend more time at the range.
See the photos of rifles. It appears that the rifle in the photo on the left has a rifle with a bump fire toy and reflex site. The rifle on the right appears to be semi-auto with a scope made for longer range. The distance was probably a little less than 400 meters.
Which rifle do you think caused the most casualties?
Evil gunman.
I don't know that he actually used either of those rifles during the shooting spree. And if one of those rifles is a 308 and the other a 5.56 then I think the 308 would cause more causalities.
This piece of dog-turd was many things. He was NOT a sniper.
For 72 minutes...
72 minutes..
.
Chances are, some of the first few hits with a 308 at 400 yards would have sent the whole crowd running and screaming. Hits with .223, penciling through at that range, might have given the murderer more time to pick targets without the crowd knowing what was hitting individuals (cheering, fainting at the concert?). I doubt that he effectively hit many of them, after they were running and scattering, although there might have been fragments from oblique skips on the pavement.
Likely confirms suicide.
Probably a planned suicide that was carried out long before any arrivals.
If a Southern white conservative drove up to New York and shot up a bunch of liberals at a Guggenheim Art Museum Event would the press ‘muse’ about the possibility he was a conservatives that hated liberals?
You betcha they would...
10:00 - shooting starts.
10:05 - five minute mark.
10:10 - ten minute mark.
10:15 - 15 minute mark. Shooting stops. The shooting started at 10:00 and ended somewhere between then and 10:15.
10:15 - 11:12. What happened between 10:15 when the shooting stopped and 11:12 when the SWAT team finally breached the door and found the suspect dead?
We’ve seen the photos of two of his guns used Sunday. And yet his family insists he wasn’t a “gun guy?” Something doesn’t add up.
Also, why would just one person need two windows broken out?
That’s a good observation and question.
Any guesses as to where he was hit? Right nostril? Mouth?
