Yes, but the conspiracy nuts will say they replaced that all seconds afterwards... this was like JFK, TWA800, 9/11 or Waco... there is no conspiracy. The most common explanation makes sense.

I watch this yesterday. It showed what looked like muzzle flash from about 5th floor, but wouldn’t the window have to have been knocked out and I haven’t seen anything that says it was? Just wondering.

Strobe light. It flashes constantly, even when there is no gunfire. Police officer on scanner recording confirmed it was a strobe.

The sounds of gunfire and the flashes don't match. I also think the person driving the car would have reacted much differently if the gunfire was coming from a point so close to her.

I would not be surprised if it turns out there were people on the ground and in other areas firing back at the guy, though.

The windows on that building are fixed and do not open and are single piece floor to ceiling. There are no balconies. if any shooting was coming from any other floor, there would be broken glass at that point. Unless someone figured out a way to cut into the metal glass framing without breaking the glass that is sealed to the framing.

Also, there will be forensics done of the victims and those results will give an indication of the entry angle at the time each was hit and from the witnesses around them they will also know if they were standing, running or prone. Anywhere from 10 to 20° downward slope from the 32nd floor to the nearest to furthest portion of the field.

Initial responses are going to be going to the scene of the injured.

Some of that response will then start to build a picture of what the victims already know. The shooter is a long way off, high up in a building.

Those officers then try to confirm without spreading false intel by getting to a safe area and visually confirming. Sound in open areas is hard to pinpoint.

Now that they know the shooter is in the Mandalay Bay, they have to pinpoint the floor, and then find a volunteer or two to go after them, or wait on SWAT (most likely). They'd clear the rooms nearby in case the perps room is rigged with explosives, then they breech.

50 minutes isn't a long time given the area this was taking place in to me.
