I’m guessing you’re being purposefully ironic. They could give most of that money away to hospitals for children, etc, and remain not for profit.

If things keep on the way they are going now, I would bet that public money for new stadiums is going to be in very short supply.

“I am sick of United Way extortion.”

Yes. I think having United Way collections at work places is unfair. It puts the employees under pressure. Everyone has the right to give money the way they choose.

That’s right.

Little known fact: “Tax-exempt nonprofits often make money as a result of their activities and use it to cover expenses. In fact, this income can be essential to an organization’s survival. As long as a nonprofit’s activities are associated with the nonprofit’s purpose, any profit made from them isn’t taxable as “income.””

Tax neither me nor thee, but the man behind the tree. Ever notice the cost of a car rental add on at an airport? This is an ILLEGAL TAX ON ALL. They are not charities.

Yes. This is also exploited by universities.

United Way gives money to Planned Parenthood and other liberal causes.

I let it be known that I will give directly to the charity, and cut United way out of the middle. Got BLASTED for that by HR because a lot of people followed my lead.

Go into a Walmart and the ‘greeter’ has a cup and the cashier also has one.
Harris Teeter has a sign at check out that says
“This bottle of water is yours IF the cashier doesn’t ask for a donation”.
(I see it and say to them - Before I forget, that bottle of water is YOURS.... usually followed by a quizzical (dumb) look and I explain that seeing as I get the water if you don’t ask - DON’T ask and the water is yours.

This is an issue (for me) as most stores are doing it. I ask if there is any difference between them and the guy in the median with a cup.

AT LEAST when you order on line you don’t get all this ‘extra crap’.....

Amazon GIVES you 2 day FREE shipping and price is normally lower than the stores....

Not hard, not rocket science .... stop watching, buying tickets and stop buying the overpriced sports paraphernalia.

To add insult to injury these damn teams get our cities to buy overpriced stadiums that taxpayers are stuck with for years THEN THEY SELL THE NAMING RIGHTS TO SOME COMPANY THAT KICKS IN A DAMN 2% OF THE COST OF THE STADIUM.

When 98% of Stadium costs are paid for on the backs of working middle class TAXPAYERS - AND Elite Companies name the place for a damn 2% kicked in, THE NFL prices tickets so the only people who can afford decent seats are the DAMN EFFING LIBERAL ELITES.

(And that was before ‘white liberal elites’ decided to use the games and stadiums WE PAY FOR to have their players kneel in the field GIVING THE FINGER TO THE TAXPAYERS WHO SUPPORT THEIR EXISTENCE.

It’s time for everyone to wake up... AND STOP THIS INSANITY.
