Some of the first photos in from Puerto Rico yesterday showed downed tree trunks already cut into pieces, and people actively using chainsaws. Ahhh...the sweet symphony of chainsaws after a storm.

It was clear in those photos that people were already hard at work clearing the roads, restoring their homes, and getting back to making a living.

I imagine that cll is having trouble getting on line as he is near San Juan as is my son and family. My other son and I have been able to text my son in PR, and he has answered both of us by text. I did not know the texting uses a lot less transmission capacity than cell phoning. So if you have had trouble reaching people try texting, not phoning. Before the hurricane hit he described his situation as being reasonably good. After the storm he told my other son that his building was in good shape but a lot of water had blown under the front door into the living room. I will post other details as I get them from my sons.
