Thanks, yes 270 would be the way we'd like to go - it'll be an east-west transit. But rather than stick with 70/270 we'll probably angle a little north at Indianapolis onto 74/72/36 and then drop south on 35 into Kansas City and rejoin 70. Cost us a few miles, a few minutes, and a few gallons of diesel.

But now I'm thinking it will be worth it. I'd rather just avoid the whole possibility of running into trouble. Normally I'd just go about my business and not worry about it. But St. Louis has become such a center for stupidity like blocking roads, even interstates... If we were to run into a protest; and if our truck attracted the wrong kind of attention - as in "Hey, anything worth stealing in there?"; and if I were to post here that we had already decided we were not going to become victims and had determined we would both be carrying and would not stop; ...well, that truck has a lot of power, weight (ie. momentum), ground clearance and thus the ability to push through or over just about anything... If this post were found by some attorney... then words and phrases like "premeditated" and "hate crime" etc. start getting thrown around. Best for all if we just avoid the situation. Shame really, I've been to St. Louis before, nice town, been up in the gateway arch - great vertigo inducing views - tiny little egg shaped elevators...

Too bad You can't rent a F-4 Phantom and make Strafing and Napalm Sorties on the way to and from Your destination to clean up the riff-raff 😁

Vacation Ping!
