Chi Coltrane - Go Like Elijah (Lyrics)
Side note: There was a song a few years back by a female country singer about apocalyptic events - something like Judgement Day (but on Earth). I just can't remember who she was nor the name of the song.
One note: There's an error in the lyrics (as there often is) - I think she sings 'for my sins I apologize' - the I is missing there.
I was surprised to learn that this song originated with her - while she was driving - it came to her. Her mother was riding with her and Chi asked her mother to write it down.
Well, sorry - just always enjoyed it since I discovered it a few years ago and thought you guys might like it too. I had only heard 'Thunder and Lightning' up until I discovered this by accident a few years ago.

“and thought you guys might like this as well.”
Let’s keep this love train rolling - some of you may remember this lady from some commercials. She flew away but her husband and daughter all still here on Earth.

The ping list might not know I updated my homepage a few months ago. I tip my hat to Mr. Doughty One for the inspiration to do so.
I did, and I do.
Thanks for posting! :-)
Might the song you seek be “99 Red Balloons”? Singer, Nena, is not a country singer. She’s from Germany. Found the name here

Again, thanks for posting “Go Like Elijah”
Well, DAH!
Of Course, made it difficult and it is so easy.
“End of the World” = Skeeter Davis

Sharing this with you as you are searching music history. It was often used when Simpson[##] was pinging for those of us who loved the old ones. Alas, that ceased to be.

her voice is perfect for her big hit “thunder and lightening”, but not much else. still I dig this song
Thanks SaveFerris.
I like what you’ve done, and appreciate the honorable mention.
Nice...
I did not know Joey, but that as a beautiful rendition of the song. She has a few more out there, and I enjoyed some of them too.
Here’s something I came across a few months ago. I think you’ll enjoy it, as I did.
This is a religious song by Alabama. There are more, and you’ll be able to access them using links on the right as you listen to this song.

It was a different gal. She was a brunette, I think.
It’s only been in the last 5-10 years. Danged if I can remember it.
My math is sometimes lacking. Can you clarify? Is the song you seek one from the 60s yet you remember it being popular 5-10 years ago? LOL, felt certain it was Skeeter Davis with the simple title “End of the World” Country, female, 1960s
Any possibility you might remember a stanza or two? You now have the curiosity peaking.
No, it’s most likely from the 2000’s. Probably post-9/11 effect.
Perhaps something like “preacher man on TV said it was the Judgement Day”.
I can remember the video just a bit - A black man is preaching on TV while meteors rain down on a city.
It’s not the Lamb girl, either.
This is some gal who did country music that gained just a little fame - enough for some high-quality videos - but then I don’t know country music very well.
I just tried searching with all that and nothing. She definitely had some videos on YouTube.
From past experience, know you must be pulling your hair from its roots. Here we’ve been searching for video seen on Canada Music Channel (the 1980s) Great video but who the blazes sang it, title, etc.
Sorry, couldn’t help. If I should run across something, anything will attempt to let you know. Good luck in your quest.
Yeah, thanks.
Funny part is, I know for sure I saw it on FR. And only FR.
I had never heard of her nor the song before that. If I do find it I’ll try to ping ya.
Rich Mullins did a similar song - one of my favorites.
Interesting. I remember when a guy on my team told me about his accident.
