I've been hearing that Dunkirk is one of the greatest war flicks in history, with a few deniers panning it.
Anyone see it yet that can give a recommendation?
got trashed here a while back a search
It should be called “Act of Mercy” cause Hitler basically let them go. I bet that’s not covered in the movie. Btw I hear it sucked really bad and is just mindless action woth no character development. Better off to watch Mrs Miniver (1942) which has a great Dunkirk scene in it.
Excellent movie. A bit strange how he framed it, but it was a great movie. Christopher Nolan is the best director in Hollywierd.
A Dunkirk survivor said it was very realistic. Don’t know if that means it was good or not.
I read that it had terrible continuity and that there were modern cranes in a background.
I found it one of the best films, not just war films, I have ever seen. It, IMO, makes Private Ryan seem like a bad episode of Combat. Wait there were very few bad episodes. Make that any episode of Rat Patrol.
It’s a bunch of stories condensed to a few characters and in time. I found it entertaining and informative for a Hollywood movie.
It is brilliant.
Those folks were in deep doo doo. The mood was apparent. Good flick.
Definitely worth the $5 price of admission.
Not a documentary, but a good story.
I was told it plodded, but I enjoyed it very much.
The movie contains no ideology of any kind and you won’t see cackling nazis flashing blue eyes as they mow people down.
It’s 90 minutes of “DANG, I just wanna get off this beach..!!”
It’s very granular, you-are-there type of stuff.
A history buff will enjoy it but he won’t learn anything at all in terms of history/politics.
I liked the movie cuz it didn’t once insult Western Civilization or pack all the heroic roles with urban people or lesbians doing roundhouse kicks.
Goering had Hitler hold back Guderian’s tanks so he could have his air force annihilate the beach head. Didn’t work. More like an “Act of Stupidity” on the part of Hitler. Yeah, and no wimmins there either passing out pancakes to the troops.
And at least, unlike Pearl Harbor, it didn’t have any silly romantic sub-plots.
I saw Hacksaw Ridge which I thought was excellent.. Don’t know about this movie though..
I heard it was terrible, the movie was white-washed and had NO DIVERSITY.
It’s 2017 people!
(this is sarcasm)
Saw it today-———no,it doesn’t live up to it’s hype———it’s a so-so movie——my son agreed,
.
.
Those movie reviews said no one will watch it because there’s no Diversity ,LOL
I enjoyed it.
Hey, dad, uncle and gramps loved Rat Patrol and Combat!
