Researcher finds that feeding pets creates the equivalent of 64 million tons of carbon dioxide a year

Date:August 2, 2017 Source:University of California - Los Angeles Summary:

US cats and dogs cause 25-30 percent of the environmental impact of meat consumption in this country. The nation's 163 million cats and dogs eat as much food as all the people in France. People should keep their pets -- and keep feeding them meat -- but there may be steps pet owners can take to reduce their environmental impact, says a researcher.

Shame we can’t just feed the cats and dogs and let the French starve to death.

Lol... What I noticed is it is OK for the animals but not for humans to eat meat.

The amount of methane depends on what you feed them. Be sure to slip in some sweet potatoes for your dog before your liberal relatives visit.

Guinea pigs, on the other hand, can’t pass gas. So they are environmentally friendly, unless they explode.

..With many Americans choosing to eat less meat in recent years, often to help reduce the environmental effect of meat production,..

LOL, only the true global warming believers and they're a dwindling few.

They are eating less, just probably not for that reason. :) And cats have to eat meat to live ; dogs, pandas, humans etc do not.

They don’t blame the dog.
They blame ME!
Even the dog blames me.

Panda maybe not, But the others yes, or their head will shrink and cranial capacity will start to diminish over the next couple thousand years.

Eating meat is what made man’s brain increase in cranial capacity to become more intelligent than the rest. And the “Carnivorous” classification is pretty self explanatory for Cats and Dogs.

Prelude to the muzzies killing the dogs at least. Next up they will suggest we eat them like the Chinese.

Dogs and cats are true carnivores. Humans are not.

Wonderful. I just got Daisy, a tiny kitten, three days ago, and she’s definitely doing her share to end the world.

Actually just about all primates need a certain amount of meat. Some can’t even produce fertile eggs without eating meat protein first. Most can get this from insects but some actually eat shellfish and small rodents as a regular diet.

I understand this is not what is being pushed as the official narrative, but unfortunately it is a fact. Humans require a minimal amount of meat proteins and amino acids to even digest vegetable matter in the long run.

I have to be honest, I wasn’t sure about this until I met a very creditable distinguished Paleoanthropologist/primatologist/paleosociologist who is now one of my best friends.

If I had a dog, I would be sure to let it drink Guinness from a bowl and eat hard boiled pickled eggs from his dish to increase its methane output...just to piss off liberals.

How I detest these people. Environmental impact of pets my butt.
