The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
It's that level of panic climate change alarmists like professionally monotone former Vice President Al Gore want everyone to rise to. But when people like Gore are called out on their rhetorical hot garbage, it they just tend to double down on their stance.
Gore was speaking at a town hall event, moderated by CNNs Anderson Cooper, to talk about climate change. Go figure. It couldnt have been a coincidence that CNN would host Gore for a town hall days after his new documentary, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, saw a limited release in movie theaters.
Mayor James Eskridge, of Tangier Island, Va., was one of the lucky audience members that got to ask Gore a question -- one Gore was not prepared to answer.
Heres what Eskridge had to say:
"Im a commercial crabber, and Ive been working the Chesapeake Bay for 50-plus years. And I have a crab house business out on the water. And water level is the same it was when the place was built in 1970. Im not a scientist but Im a keen observer, and if sea level rise is occurring, why am I not seeing signs of it? Our island is disappearing, but its because of erosion and not because of sea level rising, unless we get a seawall, we will lose our island. But, back to the question, why am I not seeing signs of the sea level rising?"

Something tells me Al’s infomercial won’t pull in the same take as Dunkirk.
The media are his fluffers all right, but not his pillows.
Now, I must consume at least a half gallon of whiskey to kill the brain cells that will hold that thought...
What was I talking about?
This is too funny.
Who are we supposed to believe? Certainly this man, this Chesapeake Bay waterman, knows more about what’s happening on his island than Al Gore.........
Gore, if he was a quick thinker, would assert that the island is rising due to erosion reducing it’s mass — oh, wait... /s
LOL! I missed that one, but I did see the union lady school him earlier in the broadcast. I had to turn it off once I remembered just how awful he is to listen to for any length of time.
Alford asks, if there is another 2feet of sea level rise...
He is slick... inferring sea level rise has occurred.
Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.
From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.
#8. Cucumbers will do that to you.
Yep Al, you and your global warmists will continue to state your so called facts in a way to try and make them believable. Your own words. I think I saw you wink when you said that.
Oh no, the mayor should watch his back, or he might commit suicide in the back multiple times...
I’d love to hear Algore’s answer to that, if he is even capable of coming up with one.
Now you've gone 'way beyond "hypothetical" into pure fantasy land!
algore has made $300 million since 2000.
The mayor kicked him straight in the chads.

>> “ why am I not seeing signs of the sea level rising?” <<
Because it has been falling since 1983.
That is the reason that the U.S.G.S. decided to discontinue use of MSL ‘29, and go to using NGVD ‘88.
NGVD ‘88 is invisible! They can manipulate it in such a fashion that you can’t prove anything with it.
