A Facebook account is kinda like credit these days. You want to have one, maintain it and use very little of it.
Sure, the old men yelling at clouds here on Free Republic may admonish people who use FB with their, "I've never had a Facetweeet account! Don't need one! Gonna go yell at clouds now!" sentiments but in real life, one should not have a completely vacant social media footprint.
Why? Employers will think you are hiding something. It's best to have a FB account with a few pictures of things that make you laugh, maybe a family vacation or two, and sporadic comments about your favorite sports team or that movie that you didn't like.
If you don't have any social media presence, be prepared to explain to any future employer why and be judged accordingly. It's like saying you don't have a cell phone. It makes you look peculiar.
Then I am doubly peculiar.
When I was growing up in rural Mississippi, 50’s and 60’s, we were too poor to have a telephone, and barely could afford electricity.
I am used to telling people I have no phone........................
