will be allowed to finish their enlistment, and the ‘problem’ will be subject to gradual attrition over the next 10 or so years. During that time, there will be limits on what health care procedures will be covered as reasonable care and treatment.
Or, The Donald may simply authorize the military to pay these people off for the remainder of their contracts, with a proviso that they not be able to come back and sue the military for any further benefits after their reserve time has ended.
Whatever the policy is going to be, I hope it is quickly and widely communicated. There is already panic bordering on hysteria for some of these enlisted. We all need clarity.
Simple. Offer them an honorable discharge. If they refuse, transfer all of them to the same barracks in an out of the way useless base far away from civilization. Give them a desk, no phone, no Internet, and no job. Tell them they will be at that desk every day from 0700 to 1630, Monday through Friday. Leave chits will not be approved.
I don’t have a problem with them being told “you can complete your current enlistment as long as you act and dress your biological sex. To re-enlist, however, you will have to disavow and renounce all claims to transism.”

The problem, aside from social and unit disruption, is that the military medical system is designed to treat healthy people. If I understand the Transgender situation correctly, these people must remain on certain drugs for the remainder of their lives in order to maintain their new sexuality. Could be difficult to do on long remote deployments.
You can’t sue the military. You give up your Constitutional rights when you join the military. You are basically a slave that can be put/forced into life or death situations and/or worked to death if need be.
