MINNEAPOLIS The fatal shooting of an Australian woman by a Minneapolis police officer responding to her 911 call should not have happened, police Chief Janee Harteau said Thursday, adding that the officers actions go against who we are in the department.
In her first public remarks since the death of Justine Damond, a 40-year-old life coach and bride-to-be, Harteau defended Officer Mohamed Noors training but criticized his actions.
The actions in question go against who we are in the department, how we train and the expectations we have for our officers, Harteau said. These were the actions and judgment of one individual.

We’ll see about the “how we train” part... that might be true, but I’d really want to see.
Training to shoot across the car in front of the driver?
Training to hear a noise behind a building and then shoot the person in front of you?
Training to shoot improperly clad infidel unmarried foreign wenches per Sharia Law?
That training?
Well, I, for one, am glad to hear “It’s not who we are” from the chief. I was worried that it was going to open season on unarmed, pajama-clad citizens.
Sheesh...stupid, insanely stupid liberal spouting point. “It’s not who we are.” If there was ever a worn-out, trite, overused phrase that should be sent to the rendering works, that is it.
Bet they don’t charge him. So tired of police being given a license to kill.
Hope street justice prevails.
” Police Chief Condemns”, condemns? . . . . CONDEMNS ??
How about lockin’ the bastard up and charging him with murder !!!
Sure looks like a case of political-correctness blindness.
If certain cultural backgrounds are conducive to misconduct in certain public duties, then the truth won’t be able to be hidden forever. It’s going to disturb the surface more and more, like mole mounds in a yard.
I bet the problem’s even worse in places like Germany, but they’ve been hushing it up.
Translation: “The public isn’t reacting well to our usual coverup so we may have to throw the officer under the bus after all.”
Looks like a collision of worlds.
Police elitism, meet what sure smells like Islamic treachery from within.
We live in interesting times.
This is what a neighbor of Noor’s said about the officer:
He is extremely nervous ... he is a little jumpy ... he doesnt really respect women, the least thing you say to him can set him off, he said.
When they say a policeman shot an Australian lady I thought Uh, oh but then when they said who it was I was like, OK.
The neighbour said he had seen Noor yelling at local children in a playground, and that he believed the man had little respect for blacks and kids.
He has an air like you just couldnt really be around him, he said.
“But how do we do it without getting our local Islamic community mad, mad, mad at us?”
They’ll probably conclude that he was a nut, give him an insanity defense, regret that community reports weren’t respected, and make at least some superficial adjustments.
That’s at least the beginning of a door to the sanity of keeping such things off of police forces.
What street justice are you speaking of? The kind that you no doubt are going to administer?
Hate to burst your little fantasy about hanging a cop for what is a negligent homicide (manslaughter) but he will be charged but he will spend no more than one to three years in prison.
Please look up the legal definition of murder and stay off of juries.
I suspect you know this, but they do not train in any way fashion or form like this soon to be ex-officer/convicted felon reacted.
All of this, he did on his own and with the chief’s comments, his fate has been determined. They are distancing themselves from him and with good reason.
Avoid hiring jihadis named Mad Mo’ for the Police Dept.
Maybe something akin to karma, which is far less of a fantasy. He’ll do something crazy and get legitimately RKBA’d for it.
Well, the facts indicate that’s exactly who they are.
If she said that wasn’t what she wants them to be, that would be more honest.
But it is galling, this I-am-what-I-yamming. And guess what, both lobbies AND connies do it!
er, libbies. I hate autocorrect
