Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has proposed building a monorail along the Interstate 405 to connect the San Fernando Valley with West Los Angeles on Tuesday, relieving traffic on one of the worlds busiest and most congested roads.

Well, my questions would be, who will pay for it, and how much will it cost to build and operate??
Sounds great, if money were no object, build it. California could build a bullet train, if money were no object.
Speaking of which, Jerry Brown’s bullet train is in trouble, I’ve heard.................
Connecting a huge city with a crowded suburb by some sort of light rail is a fairly logical thing.
Certainly, much more rational than a high speed train into the desert.
BUT - California politicians have become used to massive debt in fiat money to fund their schemes. Does he have any plan to pay for it???
I was looking for that.
The 405, Coldwater and Laurel are basically slow moving trains most hours of the day anyway. Why do they need another.
Well, he can head on down to Disneyland and ride the monorail and have a nice ride.
Bridge to nowhere, train to nowhere, monorail to nowhere...the Leftists never quit.
At least Disney’s version takes you to the Happiest Place on Earth.
The state should use its money to repair their dilapidated dams.
My home office with free republic running 24 7 ?
Yeah, that’s right! (We can say Disney is the Gayest Place on Earth — truth in advertising.)
Another liberal dream. Control our movements, tax everyone, charge riders below cost and have the producers and taxpayers (redundant) make up the difference.
Did I mention how it would control our movement?
They should build it from LA to ChiTown.. sister cities of inept corrupt leaders.
The leftist ultimate goal here is to get rid of private vehicles.
They should get the same bunch of corrupt officials building the monorail from Waipahu to Honolulu. A fiasco if ever there was one.
Disneyland....
.... Who pays?
...... will the windows be resistant to high speed objects?
I wish they could just flatten the Grapevine.
We already have light rail from the valley to downtown LA. It’s the Metrolink. http://www.metrolinktrains.com/routes/
I’m not sure what he’s really asking for since they just expanded it again this year and have more plans for expansion.
