I'm thinking the clearing of browsing history did the trick.
You can accidentally get a wrong url, like PamellaGeler.com or something and not notice it.

One “l” in pamelageller.com. Jihad watch works as it should. When you get to pamelageller.com save it to favorites.

Try turning it off then on again.

Try going to ixquick.com and typing in the name of the website you are interested in. One of those results will get you to the proper site and eliminates the typos.
I used to have the same problem with the Drudge site, as it seems there are several similarly-named sites that can fool you if you are not careful.

Run your anti-virus software. It might be a man-in-the middle attack.

PamellaGeller.com still shows the “domain sale” notice. There is nothing shady about that, but Pamela (one “l”) Geller might want to buy the domain and have it redirect to her site, pamelageller.com, to prevent other people from using that URL.

FYI something that can happen is ... you type it wrong the first time ... and wind up at the domain sale site. The problem is your browser then caches that as the last valid 'pam.......' site in it's drop down (because it's a perfectly valid address even though spelled wrong - the browser of course doesn't know it's not what you wanted,) so you keep typing 'pam ..' and accepting the suggested fill in, thinking your browser is suggesting the site, but it's just re-suggesting the wrong one.
Even though I know this, I'll sometimes say 'wtf' to myself 3 or 4 times before I realize it was my own original misspelling the first time. You can clear your browser cache to get out the bad autocomplete ... or ... just type it letter by letter correctly and then go there, so the cache now has a new, correct 'last used 'pame ....'
