It’s all about the taxes. Colorado taxes are high and the ‘illegal’ growers can make more money. Medical pot is somewhat cheaper, less taxes.

yep, and if you look at years of election maps San Juan County NM is one of the very few pure red counties in the blue state of NM. Been here 46 years.

I always get a kick out of some Durango people going to Farmington to shop (for cars, too) because the taxes are lower.
