Hopefully he got pumped with antibiotics. Komodo dragon saliva is a petry dish of nasty pathogens.

He is said to have ignored warnings not to get too close to the prehistoric looking creatures and crept up on one to take pictures. But one of the Komodo dragons believed to have been about 8ft long clearly thought it was dinner time and pounced. All Darwin Awards are posthumous...................

“All Darwin Awards are posthumous” Not necessarily, the Darwin Award only requires that the awardee can no longer pass on their genes. This may be due to death (the most common cause) but can also be due to disabling or removal of the associated equipment.

Now sit right back and hear a tale
A tale of a fateful trip
Too cheap to hire a guide
He wound up getting bit.

"Lon Lee Alle, 50, from Singapore, ventured alone into a secluded area to watch the wild beasts gorging on goats and pigs" And as a bonus he watched as one gorged on tourist.

They aren’t really venomous, but their mouths are so full of bacteria that the bite can lead to a deadly infection if not treated properly.

In 2009, it was verified that Komodo dragons are venomous, as well as have toxic rot in their mouths.
