So you’re making an assumption that the VICTIM had to have caused the attack? I have an 11 pound mini-dachshund, who goes ape if we pick up a box around him. (No, we’ve never done anything to him that gives him a reason to go nuts around boxes). He’s old and cranky, and we always put him in a closed room when we have company, because he’s unpredictable. I guess I’m glad he’s not a pit bull, or we’d be dead meat.

Good point. After reading hours and hours of documented maimings/killings caused by these dogs, I read a comment on an article that made the point defenders of these beasts comb through accounts of maulings and pick out the smallest detail and then pin the whole thing on that error (e.g., if she hadn’t dropped her handbag, she’d of grabbed the gate in time and her dog wouldn’t have gotten out and killed the neighbors kid playing next door.) It’s like pulling a pin on a grenade and tossing it into a crowed, watching people shove it away from themselves and when it explodes, blaming the person who didn’t shove it away from themselves in time.
There’s a cable program that features ex cons rehabbing abused pit bulls. Now we know that the prime excuse the pro pit lobby makes for killings/maimings is that the dog was abused. So then they get those abused dogs and “rehab” them and place them back in homes??????
On that program, it featured a man adopting one such abused pit. The “pit expert” said the new owner would like to ride his bike with his dog trotting leashed alongside. WELLLLLL now....once can’t just do that with very carefully testing to see if the “dog has such a strong prey drive that he will attack” the person on the bike. So the expert has a special device crafted and bolted to the frame of the bike and then she gingerly pedals around (or he will attack her) with him attached to the device on the bike. I’m watching that thinking “Heaven help others (children?) who might pedal by without considering the extreme, life-threatening danger of daring to ride a bike in this dog’s presence.”

Just more proof that pit bull owners know EXACTLY what these animals are really like.

My brother's new cocker spaniel head-butted me and bloodied my lip by knocking it against my teeth when I leaned down to kiss my brother, who was seated in a chair.
