Chris Mad Dog Russo conveyed his surprise to me after hearing former broadcast partner Mike Francesa finally express interest in a reunion that would shake up both terrestrial and satellite radio.
Thats the first time Ive ever heard him say it. Hes been put on the spot like that a long time. I brought it up at the Super Bowl. But thats the first time Ive heard Mike say that, Russo said.

Francesa is one of the worst radio talkers I’ve ever heard. He’ll repeat a point 5 or 6 times in a row. I cannot listen to him at all.
“Be great for the two to get together on Mad Dog’s satellite radio station. Francesca is leaving WFAN sometime this year.”
I loved it when Fruitloops would talk about the Giants and Will Clark.
I understand what you are saying and I tend to agree up to a point.
Listening to grown men do nothing but talk about sports for hours on end—when they never played the game—is tedious.
I worked with Sports writers for fourteen years. Sometimes the length that they go to is fill up a column of news print or a two minute broadcast was simply crazy.
Mike is NEVER wrong (just ask him), and Chris (Mad Dog) needs to take a sedative (or two).
[Mike is NEVER wrong]
The “Pope”.
Same here. I stumbled upon WFAN in 1989 as a teen and listened to Mike and the Mad Dog and Knicks games Steve Somers on the overnights. That’s what got me into talk radio. Imus was also on the station, this was back when the Imus In The Morning show was funny.
I remember when Imus and Stern were both on WNBC am.
It was great because they would try to out do each other, prior to political correctness.
Of course Imus in the 70’s when he was drunk and high on the air was unparalleled insanity.
“ARE YA NAKED BABY ? “
Francesa does repeat things 5 or 6 times.
Over-and-over he says the same thing.
Sometimes five times and some times six times.
He'll keep repeating, saying the same thing.
He just repeats himself.
That's Mike.
Read Phil Mushnick’s column in the NY Post to see how wrong Francesa is and how often. Phil’s column is pretty much an endless rehash of his oft-stated complaints about ESPN, Francesa, the NFL, etc, but to read about Francesa’s often wrong proclamations are hilarious.
What he and the Dog do know how to do is run a radio show. Truly professional broadcasters in a genre where most of the on-air talent are a bunch of childish hacks.
5 or 6 times?
You're being kind.
