Would anybody have a recommendation for a piece of CRM software which could handle both email and MSM messages in an automated manner? This would be for a medium-sized restaurant, which would like to be able to blast out notices about leftover pizza at third price as MSM messages and, also, send out blurbs as email. Customer lists would be kept as a spreadsheet or small database and, ideally, an incoming email with the word unsubscribe in the subject line should automatically remove that sender from the database.

Go bespoke. What is it your client needs? Understand the business goals. Have a meeting of everyone. Let them bitch. Fix the system. Write the software they need, want and will love. Also understand they have to remain competitive. Come in and crack your knuckles and say “Tell me about your business” Then think.
Speaking from experience.
Uh, second sentence.

I despise Salesforce. I’ve got two companies I work with that require us to use it. Totally useless. Creates a lot more work than it saves. I guess it’s something for people that sit on their ass and do nothing to read.
And you’re correct about the CEO being a leftist obama ass kisser.
They got popular because they thought CRM was a niche thing but in the past 5 years alone multiple competitors sprung up and they realized they’re not the only game in town.
