I’m not that good looking (I’m an old guy), but I was luckier than her - could have easily ended up like her in my youth. So sad.
My brother left a bar in his MG - pulled forward and ran over a kid that had passed out right in front of his car. It was just some bruises, but the kid tried to sue. My brother had a college buddy that was studying law and he defended my brother and got him off. My brother was so proud that my parents never did find out! (I imagine my brother had been drinking as well).
I should have died at 14 when I drank nearly an entire 1/5th of Scotch by myself in less than an hour. Had my dad not come down to my room to see if I had returned yet, I would have died. But it took probably another 20 years before I realized I was not one who could drink. Been sober for over 30 years now, and it was never really a struggle to walk away from it either.
