Red Bluff Police are searching for a high-risk sex offender, paroled in Red Bluff, who police said cut his ankle monitor and is on the loose. He is considered high-risk.
24-year-old Jose De Jesus Esparza was recently released from prison and paroled in Tehama County.

This is a guy who needs to be found, but am I missing something here ? This doesn’t seem as dangerous of a situation as things suggest.

I'd say. He's a sex offender on parole who ditched his tracking device. Now why on earth would he do that unless he had plans to commit more deviant acts? Part of his parole included that he submit to being monitored. He certainly didn't take it off to go to the local KFC. And, he's probably an illegal to boot, although there's no mention of it in the article. You know how the media hates to report stuff like that. Read my previous comment about what happened in Syracuse, NY with a Federally monitored pedophile who was out on bond.
