Back in the seventies and early eighties I thought. British comedy was funny. Monty Python fawlty towers and a few others were a hoot. I liked this one too. After a while they put more sitcoms on PBS. They were pretty bad. What they have today is mostly PC liberal crappola. I stopped watching public TV years ago. The wife still watches. I get a glimpse every now and again.
No longer funny.

Suggested watching on Netflix: The IT Crowd. It has moments that are gut busting. "Have you tried turning it off and back on again?" Also Doc Martin, about a socially inept and brutally rude surgeon who develops a phobia over the sight of blood and is reassigned to the little Cornish town where he spent his childhood. Not as blunt force funny as The ITC but very addicting.

After a while they put more sitcoms on PBS. I've been a Britcom fan since Doctor In The House (late 60's).The more recent ones are,as you say,are pretty bad but many of them,up to (and including) the first couple of seasons of Ab Fab,were great.
