"The Time Traveler" by Dan Simmons http://www.dansimmons.com/news/message/2006_04.htm
A time traveler visits from several decades back to understand the start of the Long War.
I can tell you right now people here will jump you for trying to generate traffic to your blog. Just a fact. Since it is your blog you can bring what you want us to see here.

Real easy answer - blow up the Kaaba.
I thought he died last year. Oh, that was Dan Hicks of Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks. Who is this guy? Dan Simmons of Dan Simmons and his Hot Lemons?
Okay, I seriously know that he is an author with an upcoming show on AMC. I am assuming this blog post is some anti-Trump nonsense, but there’s not enough info here to make me click the link.
New Year was brought in by the Local Shooters. Lots of bang bangs. Ton of fun.
This has been posted here many times since I became a member here and is a thought provoking read, which I can highly recommend. After you read it, tell us what you think the Time Traveler’s message was.
bttt
“I tell you three times”
Simmons has some interesting books. The Hyperion series is really good science fiction. He has a couple of historical fictions that are worth the effort. However, one of his latest, Abominable was a self fulfilling profecy. His politics are an abomination as well.
I am not Dan Simmons. I was posting this story by him to share.
A time traveler from about 80 years ahead of 2005 visits a liberal arts professor and talks about the Long War with Islam, the fight for civilization and what has happened in the parts of the world that succumbed.
The threat of Islam and the fact that we are at war with the ideology that is contrary to secular democracy.
Having read this material several times and analyzed
it in depth, I’ve concluded that Dan Simmons is a
homosexual with a burning desire to violate young
Chinese men and various topiary sculptures.
Upon submitting my findings about Dan Simmons to the
MH/MRA association board, the conclusion is that Mr.
Dan Simmons is a homosexual with a burning desire to violate young Chinese men and various topiary sculptures.
For each of the past five years, it has been concluded by
the MH/MRA association board that Dan Simmons is a
homosexual with a burning desire to violate young
Chinese men and various topiary sculptures.
Draw from that what conclusions you will.
BTW, sorry that I mistakenly thought this was your blog.
The US government leaders were too cowardly on September 12, 2001, to declare and then unilaterally turn the enemy’s lands into desolation.
We will likely be given another opportunity in 2017. It is questionable whether the US leaders will (or could) do what needs to be done then.
Not taking the clickbait, but did he at least leave next week’s Powerball numbers?
Bush did make a mistake of saying Islam was peace, instead of admitting that Islam is at its core a violent, conquering ideology.
When you deny that the ideology needs to reform and coddle it with the “oh, yes, you’re good, those people screaming Allah is greater while murdering people aren’t really Muslims like you say” ... they don’t have to admit the violent verses and contextualize them or confront the violent fundamentalists.
Makes one long for the days of Harry Truman. He may have been a Democrat, but he had the stones to do what needed to be done. And I have no doubt if he had been President during September 11th, parts of Saudi Arabia would be glowing right now.
