Jim Harbaugh met with the media in Miami Thursday, one day before his Wolverines face the Florida State Seminoles in the Orange Bowl, and his press conference ended on a bizarre note when a reporter earnestly asked him if he planned to take his players to the beach so they could see some bikinis.

Harbaugh handled really well. The whole thing reeks of a setup to get Harbaugh fired if he answered it the "wrong" way.

His players are young adults. They are fully capable of going to the beach themselves if they wish to check out the bikinis.

If I had to hazard a guess, I’d guess that there is NO college football player in the USA who has a problem attracting young women!
Go to the beach, indeed!

If they go to South Beach, they can see a lot less than bikinis.

His players are young adults. They are fully capable of going to the beach themselves if they wish to check out the bikinis. Not right now. The Michigan team is there on an all expenses paid trip to prepare for and play the Orange Bowl. Their schedules are mapped out in advance, and any player caught in the wrong place at the wrong time will be disciplined by the coaching staff. So if they want to participate in extra-curricular activities, they will just have to wait a few days until the season is over.
BTW, speaking of discipline, that reporter who asked that irrelevant question and kept persisting with it is a total jerk. He should be disciplined by his MSM employer, but knowing how the MSM operates, that would be expecting too much.

I’m pretty sure the team does not need the coach to help them with this.

Reporter was making a point the hard way. Most lake beaches in Mich temperatures are in the 40s now where Miami is sunny and warm all year round.

To be fair, U of M had to put AstroTurf in the Big House to keep their cheerleaders from grazing.

Sage advice. I have a cousin who was married to a professional athlete. The marriage was brief and unhappy. Less than two years in he was cheating on her with a former Miss Universe contestant. Most of those guys just don't live a lifestyle that is conducive to marital harmony.

Q: What’s the biggest lie told at Florida State?
A: “I was just helping that sheep over the fence.”
I don’t really have a dog in this fight.
But any one of these jokes,
Q: “How do you keep _____________ state out of your yard?”
A: Put up goal posts.
Just insert opponent of choice.
My brave lads won last night, beating those dirty dogs from ____________________, and that’s all that matters.

Vanity: It's great to have a break after the campaign. I have hockey all New Year's week here in Michigan (on my Christmas big screen from son Ace), then, on to the Keys!
