3 (THREE) Boxes Pistachio Pudding (3.5 oz approx. - often 3.4)
1 can Crushed Pineapple (20 oz. approx.)
3/4-1 cup milk (I prefer whole milk)
2 bags Pecan pieces (or about 4 oz)
1 bag Mini Marshmallows (I like the colored / flavored ones yellow/green/pink/orange)
2 tubs Cool-Whip or similar whipped topping
In a large cake mixing bowl,
1) Empty the whole can of Pineapple AND juice
2) put in 2 (TWO) of the contents of Pistachio Pudding
3) put in the milk
4) put in the pecan pieces
5) (optional) - put in about 1/2 can of fruit cocktail with cherries / 1/2 juice (maybe 1/4 cup less milk)
Mix BY HAND with spatula or plastic / wood spoon until evenly-distributed
6) Fold in the 2 tubs of whipped topping
7) Put in the contents of the 3rd box of Pistachio pudding
AGAIN, Mix BY HAND with spatula or plastic / wood spoon until evenly-distributed
Now add in the amount of marshmallows you want - I go with about 1 - 2 cups - approx 2/3 of a 10 oz bag.
Fold in gently with spatula until evenly-distributed.
Chill in refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Enjoy!!
If you shop wisely, you can make this for $10 or less and have a light dessert for a whole lot of folks.
I got whipped topping 2 for $3 BUT this past week found them for 89 cents each on sale. Got 2 more last night.
WM's pistacho pudding is 68 cents a box in my area; grocery store was about 75 cents.
WM marshmallows were about 98 cents and crushed pineapple was about $1 and change. TODAY, I used Very Cherry Fruit Cocktail instead of the crushed pineapple. Hope some of you get some enjoyment out of it.
fyi - not prophecy-related (to my list)
My low-budget, cheap dessert
My folks neighbor makes this and I never knew what it was called or how to make it. Thanks for the recipe. Merry Christmas.
Sounds easy, tasty and worth trying.
Yum!
> I never knew what it was called
Likewise. It was my favorite. My Mom would make it for my birthday and later, when I came home from college. I also did not know the name of it. Cool!
My wife makes something like this. It is tasty.
Will you be serving some Clinton Impeachment Anniersary Cake for dessert?
In physics “matter” and “antimatter” will annihilate each other
In politics “what matters” and “what difference does it matter” will destroy the candidate that it says it... we called the Benghazi effect
Sounds really good. Do you know how it got the name?
Almost the same for me. I had it and finally decided to look it up. Of course, I messed with it a bit because I always do that when I’m making food of any sort.
One of our favorites. Had is for our wedding over 35 years ago. Specialty of my mother-in-law.
After what the last eight years did to my family, this is very welcome.
Thank you.
I think you will like it - everybody seems to so far.
I had forgotten what it was called, too -— way back.
Lord willing, January 2 I begin a previous diet.
(boo-hoo) but it is necessary.
Just to clarify, that’s instant pudding and not cook kind?
(I’m not the world’s best cook. Lol)
Cool!
