The Coast Guard Sunday morning (Dec. 11) continued its search for a 35-year-old motorcyclist who catapulted off the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway's northbound bridge late Saturday. The motorcycle rammed into the back of an SUV around 11 p.m., leaving debris spread over a half-mile stretch, Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou said.
The northbound lanes remained closed for several hours before reopening around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Dufrechou said. The operator of the motorcycle has not yet been identified.
Dufrechou said the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred about eight miles from the south shore. A Causeway police officer parked at a crossover clocked the motorcycle on radar and began a pursuit.

When a “motorcyclist” has an accident or trouble, the cops are not always at their professional best or show the “motorcyclist” the most sympathy.

The U.S. Coast Guard said the 35-year-old black man has been missing since the accident. Additional details about the man were not released.
Causeway police and St. Tammany Parish deputies are assisting the Coast Guard and its boat and helicopter crews in the search.

Those crazy Russians.
He dramatically raised the bar for other stunt riders.
This guy wasn’t a “biker”. Bikers, as in leather and big giant road bikes, tend to just cruise around.
