Here in NC, stuffing is in the turkey and dressing is baked in a casserole dish, so we have both and they’re not the same. Eastern NC oyster dressing is awesome if prepared correctly, not an easy thing to do.

My mother always stuffed the turkey and also baked dressing in a casserole dish because she always made a ton. I never liked the dressing as much as the stuffing, even though they were the same exact recipe.

I’d love to try oyster dressing, I don’t think I’ve ever had it.

Guess I’ll make dressing. Somehow I don’t think stuffing will work well in the fryer. I might be a Yankee, but I spent a long time in Louisiana.

My grandma in SE Indiana made oyster dressing...she showed my wife, but we lost the recipe...my family was ... shall we say not amused....
