Excellent, thank you for posting.
The incomparable Jerry Reed
Nice tune, never heard it before. what’s the deal with his shoeless left foot?

You summbitches couldn't close an umbrella.
Jackie Gleason’s greatest role: the Southern sheriff in the film with the idiot deputy son, Buford.
A phenomenal talent gone too soon. “Snowman, what’s your 20, c’mon back?!”
Can’t really call this ‘product placement’ as the entire movie featured the Pontiac TransAm. Is there a term for the opposite of ‘product placement’ (pp)? The ‘pp’ in this movie was the Coors! (Beware the dirty minds!)
For the children, yes, it was very true that you could not get Colorado Koolaid aka Coors, east of the Mississippi. Thus it was known to be priority cargo on MATS Airlifts and other such wasted space!
Smokey and the Bandit is one of my all time favorite movies. I don’t understand when people don’t believe it when I tell them that.
Favorites inclulde Unforgiven, Private Ryan, the Big Sleep, the Big Country, All That Jazz, To Live and Die in LA, the Game, Truman Show, Heat, Reservoir Dogs, 12 Monkeys, Shane Se7en, Ronin...
Nobody blinks when I mention any of the above as favorites. Say Smokey and the Bandit and people go into disbelief.
Probably Jackie Gleason’s best work in a lifetime of great work. He steals the show but the chemistry between all the principles is just magic.
That song gets in your head, it stays there.
The only question is, why is it bootlegging to smuggle Coors east of Texas? I never understood that.
