Was it God’s will that Judas betray Jesus? That would mean that God willed evil to come into Judas as the bible says. I don’t believe God will’s for people to do evil things, but He will allow people to choose to do evil.
I also believe no one can say for certain where people will end up, about people who die and know one is aware if they accepted Jesus or not.
Only the person and God knows their last conscious thoughts, or words some times.
Some make the mistake of equating God's foreknowledge with His making things to be such and such a way. Judas, I would not comment on, but Pilate was not doing God's will, BUT God allowed and knew what Pilate would do. That is not the same as God cause Pilate to do it ... in conflating the two, a person faults God, as if there is nothing that is not 'God's fault if He doesn't stop horrific things He knows will happen. THAT is a satanic perspective, the ultimate 'accuser mentality'.
How do you know they were doing God’s will.Set up question from an athiest gay.
The problem with your question is that you fail to define the term “will.”
Because the term is undefined, the question suggests, monstrously, that the commission of the worst crime in the history of the universe was pleasing to God.

God has it figured out, and that’s enough for me.
Pilate committed suicide? News to me.
Pilate is revered as a saint in some parts of the Church. Judas, never.
Pilate was a pagan and stayed same = hell.
Jesus said of Judas it was better had he never been born; that, too == hell.
There is no explicit mention of his name in either the Inferno or Purgatory.
The historical record is also very vague.
Several legends have emanated from Italy, including one where Tiberius recalled him to Rome after a revolt in which Roman soldiers massacred hundreds of Samaritans. Tiberius allegedly condemned Pilate to death, and Pilate killed himself.
Hebrews 2:14 ... that first rebel, the devil started this mess, hence, this flesh age. And before any of the Father’s creation are destroyed forever, a perfect sacrifice gave any who will believe in Him, life eternal. Nobody is going to that ‘hell’, unwillingly, they choose too.
Good point. I believe Pilate knew who he was dealing with and tried to let him off several times but became ensnared with the Sanhedrin pushing for guilt. Even down to the choice between freeing Barabas or Jesus....surely he thought the people would choose Jesus.
Unless they asked for forgiveness. But I’m not sure God would forgive the two men most responsible for the death of Jesus.
In some ways he is a lesson on how we can not fix our own mistakes but must seek forgiveness and then accept what punishment is dealt out. Self punishment does no good.
As for Pontius Pilate who knows? Maybe he found his way to the Savior before his death.
In both cases they knowingly did wrong. That God took what they meant for evil and used it for good does not change that.
It’s not my call to make.
thanks, I never thought of Judas as a lesson about not trying to fix our own mistakes...
And they will be subjected to sex hungry centenarians.
I should correct that to -- some sources say he committed suicide, which seems plausible considering the Roman penchant for self-destruction.
And here is a picture of Pointy-head Pilate, and one piece of "truth" he knows for sure by now is that hell fire is VERY hot!
indeed brother. you’ve got to the sticking point with
many who choose to hate God. these are weighty matters. but generally i’d say, the devil rejoices when we choose our way and not God’s, which has most often been the history of mankind. and he especially rejoices when we choose to hate God for not stopping us when we do.
Probably not. First, it was gods plan that Jesus die in the cross. Judas showed remorse and took his life. That shows being overcome with guilt, the precursor to repentance.
And Pilate? Who knows. He was just some poor Roman SOB in the position of trying to keep the lid on in Judea. He would have had no way to know the gravity of what he was mixed up in. And does anyone know if later in life he accepted Christ? Many Romans did just that. Including one named Saul. Changed his name to Paul even.
And besides, heaven or hell isn’t decided by your acts here. One can do some quite bad things ranging from being a minor rascal all the way to being a human nightmare. Repentance was the salvation until the moment Jesus died. Then he became the route. Judas died before Jesus and was clearly destroyed by what he did. And don’t forget, Jesus told him he would. Jesus understands.
Gnostics say Jesus needed him to do it.
