You want to know what this is really about?
This is Obama & Company making a deal with Trump and the American people.
It’s now clear to them that Hillary won’t win the election, and that all of her emails are going to be dumped onto the internet. The information forthcoming will implicate several levels of government. She won’t be in a position to protect them from prosecution. Literally hundreds of corrupt government officials could wind up in Leavenworth, once Trump takes over.
The corruptocrats are betting that, if they give up the heads of Bill and Hillary, and several of their top aides, it will satisfy the people’s blood lust. It’s a gamble, as Trump could decide to dig into every dark corner of that hive of villainy anyway.
But it’s all they’ve got left. This is literally a Hail Mary pass in the last ten seconds of the game.
Interesting theory; I was thinking today along the same line that this could be Comey’s way of avoiding prosecution and/or ruining his career if Trump does get elected. Nothing like this happens by accident or coincidence.
Obama will give blanket president pardons to Hil, Bill and himself (ala Ford to Nixon). The flunkies and lackies will take the heat.

2. He returns with recommendation to not indict
3. Comey finds out his asst has been given a big ol bribe through his wife.
4. Comey sees writing on the wall and reopens to save his ass.

I've been predicting that outcome for weeks.
I always thought Obama kept Hillary as keeping enemies closer. Her tenure at State sounded like a trap and set up to me, given how she let him btch slap her for the primaries prior 2004 and she was taking it
like a champ instead of
fighting him back
Plausible, but unlikely. Obama can issue a pre-emptive pardon of the whole lot before he leaves office. None of them will ever have to talk.
Well, they do have 1.8 billion "friends" already in Qatar, they wouldn't want them to get lonely.
Very definitely looks as though somebody very high up is trying to keep her from winning - a cadre of FBI and intelligence personnel who know what a disaster she’ll be? Democrats who know eventually she’s likely to be indicted and impeached and stain the party? Comey trying to regain the decimated respect for his agency? - all or none of the above?.....

That is also a very strong possibility, but with everything that’s liable to come out in the next ten days, I don’t know that there’s enough time, or whether he could pardon a sufficient number of conspirators to save his own skin.

I think Mr Wiener was saving his butt along with kneecapping Hillary. I suspect he made a deal with the FBI for easy treatment in favor of documents showing his wife and Hillary colluding on how to lie to Congress and obstruct an investigation...Well played sir, well played.
Deputy Director of the FBI aka #2 in command at the Bureau ..... heck of a top ‘assistant’. Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, thinks this was a factor in this latest Comey action.

If this were only about Wiener, Comey wouldn’t have reopened the investigation into Hillary’s emails, nor would be have made such an earthshaking announcement to Congress.
No, this is a political move, on the part of the biggest players on the national stage.
They can’t protect Hillary because they’re not in control of the release of ALL her emails. Given that fact, and the fact that hundreds of corruptocrats will likely go down, as a result, AND the fact that it’s now certain she’s going to lose the race, they’re being forced to get out in front of the biggest political disaster of all time.
